A Message from the "Lucky Winner" of the $10,000 prize. |
Thank you for such a well organized trout derby. It is by far the best in our area. This was the fourth year that 10 - 15 of our family and friends have participated in your event. this year I was the lucky angler that caught #748, the $10,000 dollar fish. It was certainly a surprise when I checked in at 3:00 pm. I was pleased to see that so many people shared in my excitement. Certainly I was the winner to some people, but the real winners are the special individuals that get a chance to compete in Special Olympics. God has given them very special gifts. Your event has given my family the opportunity to spend 4 days of quality time together. It is a great joy to see so many grandparents, parents and kids enjoying the outdoors. We live in such a fast paced society that people don't take the time as a family unit like they used to. It is great to see them visiting, playing games and sitting around the campfire.
